What this is about
Words like climate neutral, environmentally friendly, sustainable or CO₂ neutral appear on almost every corporate website. Since 27 September 2026, many of them are an unfair commercial practice that competitors and associations can act on, however well intended the claim was.
The sensitive cases are generic environmental claims without evidence, neutrality claims based on offsetting, forward-looking promises without a verifiable implementation plan, and labels with no certification scheme behind them. Most companies do not know how many of these claims are on their own website.
What we review
Your homepage and the relevant subpages, including labels, claims and image text.
What you receive
A report listing every critical claim, with its classification and the legal basis.
How it works
Company, website and a business email address. That is all we need.
Our ESG advisory team checks your public environmental and sustainability claims against the EmpCo requirements.
With a short read on what is urgent and what is not.
The report is a professional first assessment
and does not constitute legal advice.
It is based on the publicly accessible content of your website at the time of review, without knowledge of your internal evidence. Where a claim remains permissible once the right evidence is in place, the report states that as well.
